It is amazing how a predator like him survives in human habitations hunting their pet animals and birds. People’s careless ways provide ample food and shelter for them as well. When you wander about an Indian village you may hear an unusual alarm sound by the domestic chickens among the bushes, predicting the presence of this elusive predator. Perhaps you may come across people enjoying the fights between a tamed mongoose and a de-fanged cobra. But, it will be more entertaining to watch their activities in the wild, with the very secretive movements, occasional vigilance by raising head to look around, hunting small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
